Hello and Welcome 👋
I’m Nicholas Jorgenson - a curious problem solver, software engineer and perpetual tinkerer always searching for the next big project!
A little history about me: My love for computers started at an early age, when I discovered that you could modify your video gaming experience with mods and plugins (for my fellow gamers… It was Morrowind that began my technological journey). Once I had learned the basics, I realized there would always be something new to test, try, and learn. Fast forward to today, I am an avid believer in the open source community and love nothing more than teaching others what I have learned about tech.
These days, I self-host all sorts of services such as media servers, reverse proxies, source control server, multiple websites, and more. There’s something really satisfying about being able to access my data securely from anywhere - it’s also a great source of personal pride!
Originally from the upper Midwest, I followed opportunity and adventure east to western Pennsylvania, where I currently reside. When I’m not tinkering with my home lab or programming my latest project, you’ll catch me at the gym or unwinding with friends over an Allagash White (currently my go-to beer). The only thing I love more than tech is my house plants; I am particularly proud of my Rosemary herb as I’ve managed to keep it alive now for 3+ years despite the cold winter weather.
